Macro Monday – Clematis

I know you’ve all seen this Clematis enough now, but honestly it seems to be so overlooked yet it’s the most stunning Clematis I’m yet to come across.
The first time I ever saw it flowering en masse it actually took my breath away and I had to stop to take photos.

Marjorie likes to grow big, so as long as you have a large wall/fence/structure then she’ll be happy.

Hi Ginny,

Thank you very much! In case anyone hadn’t yet worked out that I might just be a little obsessed with this Clematis. I cannot wait for her to mature and cover our fence!

I hope you have a lovely week too :)

Hi Liz,

I do too! They’re so delicate, also because they take a while to uncurl it lengthens their flowering period. The Rubens has been and gone yet they opened at the same time and here we are with Marjorie still strutting her pink frills :)

Don't you just love clematis? I have several and each is special. Your bloom is very fine... I can understand your obsession.

That certainly is a special clematis - different from what I think of when I think of that vine. It's delicate and gorgeous in your photos, Liz. Great job creating portraits of this flower.

Liz....she is absolutely gorgeous.
So classy....and of course your lovely photographs show her individual features so well.

Love the pink tinge on the leaves......

Note to self: Do not think about this plant when you leave this blog. If you see it at the nursery you must not buy. Your garden is full......at this time you do not have space for another climber......

Great photos, Liz. And she is beautiful indeed. Well worth your obsession.

And to join the others, I too adore that pink tint!
