Fuji Cherry

My Fuji Cherry - Prunus incisa 'Kojo-no-mai' is now in flower…

For the past 5+ years it's lived in a pot, followed me around from house to house and now, since I removed a couple of Laurels it'll finally have a permanent home!

I look forward to a screen of tiny white blossoms over the coming years, it's such a wonderful shrub.

This year seems to be a 'down' year with fewer blossoms to last... Perhaps it's because she's living in a pot and needs a little more leg room?

Wow, brilliant photography again, Liz. my favourites have to be no. 3 and 4, if I have to choose.

I love Cherry blossom. The council planted Cherry trees in the village where I grew up, I loved admiring these once I was not in the forest.

Looking forward to more photos in future springs, as it spreads out in its new home.

So beautiful. The soft focus of your photos compliments the cherry blossoms perfectly! Cherry trees are featured in my current post on the Japanese Garden in Birmingham, but I don't have any stunning macro shots like these!

Hi Liz....no matter how few blossoms there are, they are absolutely beautiful.
As always your photography shows the detail we often forget to view.

Have a good weekend.....

So pretty! My fruit trees have long stopped flowering, it's great to see a few more blossoms on the blogs in cooler climates.

Hi Yoke,

Cherry trees seem to be everywhere, always a favourite of councils to plant on street, there are many, many cherry lined - streets in Sheffield anyway!

Hi Debs,

Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked them :)

Hi Cheryl,

Yep, they're definitely very pretty shrubs :)

Now I just need to plant it... A little unwilling though because I'm pretty certain I will have to smash the nice glazed pot it's in to get it out...

Hi Lona,

Thank you kindly :) Glad you enjoyed looking at them!

Hi TM,

Blossoms are just beginning here, some have been out for the past couple of weeks, but most of the more 'common' Cherries are yet to flower.

Lovely to see the blossom. But today, we've an easterly wind, so our village street looks like snow, but with petals instead of snowflakes.

Lovely pictures. And thanks for 'faving' me, by the way!

If there's one tree that broadcasts Spring's beauty, it's the Cherry. I've never grown one, and appreciate the beauty you've shared here.

What pretty flowers. I just love the flowering cherries. I bet it's happy to have a permanent home.

Yeah, free the tree! How nice for it to have a home in the ground. Hopefully it will reward you with lots more flowers next year. I've got several plants in pots that really should be in the ground, but I don't have the perfect place yet. It happens.
