Almost There...

Tease!

Hebe

First Anemone flower… Won’t be long!

Another tease!!!!

Yes, Carex yet again…

Pheasant’s Grass is growing nicely.

Now for a shock…
Rose bud

I realise a Rosebud is not exactly shocking to you all…

However this little baby is a trimming from one of the roses in the front last winter and used the cut-off as a natural support to some Cosmos in one of the beds. I did not intend for it to root… How on Earth it’s survived I have no idea… If this roots and survives, then I may just fall off my chair.

Plants amaze me.

I look forward to being teased and amazed, in a month or two. Enjoy your new rose!

Amusing post. Roses are quite easy to strike from cuttings but during the warm weather you have to be sure they don't dry out whilst they still haven't got many roots.

Climbers and Ramblers of course are the easiest and many of my cuttings have been given away years later people remind me of one they have which is now a large bush and I have even forgotten I've given them a cutting.

These days when I take them I do it in long pots and over winter in the greenhouse to give them extra care.

You sound like you have a similar approach to your garden and plants as I do - great to see the buds coming on the roses - we've lots here too - the rain this last week - phenomenal! I've never seen our little stream so flooded and tonight we're awaiting a terrible storm so the forecast tells us... what next! Hope you're having a good weekend - sorry not to be in touch for a while - have had my head stuck in a design all this last week... hope to get more time for blogging again soon! Miranda x - I tried leaving this a few times but for some reason the word verification wasn't working!

Things are certainly moving steadily towards Spring Liz, some nice warm sunshine and it will all take off. I trust the perseverance and survival instinct of that Rose has earned it the right to stay, bless it :)

Prepare to fall from your chair.

The twiddle is delightful. Carex?

Liz so close and yet not quite. At least you are having the promise of blooms. We can hardly wait.
