Wordless Wednesday – Sweet Rocket

***Edited***

Sorry this doesn't make my post wordless anymore, but blogger is still having issues and it logs me out all the time... This also means I'm unable to comment to people also on blogger as it doesn't recognise my blogger account, so I login, then when I come from the login page to comment again, it's logged me out. Repeat x 1000000 times and you'll see steam coming from my ears.

Sorry!

Anyway, onto the more interesting stuff...

Beautiful photos Liz, it is such a delicious colour! Love the Argyranthemum on the previous post too.

Hope the work is going well :)

Such a gorgeous plant Liz. I love the colour, the scent, and also the fact that it attracts butterflies. I have just noticed I have several more plants appearing in the borders....wonderful.

Your images are beautiful....but then they always are.

Hi again Liz, a number of bloggers are having the same problem. I have looked at Blogger 'known issues' and they say the following:

'We're investigating an issue which is preventing login and comment posting for some users, and hope to have a fix released shortly.

Thanks for your patience in the meantime. — latest update on Tuesday, May 24, 2011'

I thought I would let you know Liz in case you were thinking it was you!

Hi Jan,

Thanks :) I'm in love with the Sweet rocket and will make sure I have more next year... I only have the two plants at the moment, as a trial run and I think I'm a convert. Then when I was looking at a Butterfly website and checking the plants for flutters almost all species apparently love it... So it's a definite for next year!

Hi Carolyn,

It is lovely, anything that has a nice perfume gets my vote, and this just happens to also be a wonderful shade of purple which glows in the evening sunlight.

Hi Sage Butterfly,

It is wonderful, I'm smitten :)

Hi Donna,

Haha, thanks ;) I know I'm taking way too many photos of it... I just can't help myself! Hopefully next year I'll calm down on the shots, and entice you with something else instead! lol

Hi Cheryl,

I'm glad you have plenty of seedlings coming along... I'm hoping I will too, but I've also sown some ready for next year too. At the moment as it's so tall and I seem to have lost most of my tall plants in the right border it's a little out of place... So I'll have to plant more around the rest of the garden.
Btw, are your Foxgloves all small too? I've just realised mine seem to be dwarfs this year; likely due to the lack of rain.

Hi again Jan,

Thanks for that, indeed it seems to be an issue and I just wanted to let people know I'm not ignoring their posts... :)
Strangely enough my twitter account had also gone mad... Seems to be picking on me today... Perhaps it's karma trying to tell me to get on with my essay and stop procrastinating checking every website over and over again.................. ;)

Lovely photos and such a lovely colour. I only have the white one seeding around the garden, must buy seeds of the lilac one, they will look so pretty together.

Lovely. Its such a beautiful plant, isn't it! How tall are yours? Mine are enormous, over double the advertised 45cm, I think because the soil is rich. I'm going to have to try moving one, its blocking my beautiful Veronicastrum, which is about to flower!

I've been having the same trouble commenting on Blogger sites too. I noticed it the other day. I they'll get it fixed soon, it gets quite infuriating.

Blogger woes aside though, your sweet rocket photos are gorgeous. I love the soothing purple hues, and the flower clusters remind me of the native wallflowers here. Simply lovely.

Hi Pauline,

I don't have any of the whites... I should probably get some though! I'm sure they'll be just as stunning as these purpley ones.

Hi Janet,

Mine are enormous, must be almost 5 foot tall... I've no idea what height I expected them to be, but certainly didn't realise they'd be quite this tall, so they do look very out of place in their borders and next year I plan on having more to make a nice statement.

Hi CV,

Strangely enough I am able to comment using my ipad, so I'm thinking perhaps it's an IE thing as the ipad uses Safari, it also doesn't log me out all the time... Do you IE? I might have a go with chrome and see if that allows me to comment.
It's actually quite a difficult shade to capture; similar to the Aubrieta, they just never quite come out right. But I recently bought some Perennial Wallflowers and their purple shade comes out just fine! Strange isn't it? It must be how our eyes see the plant, I imagine to other animals with a wider spectrum the colour is very different.
